Liam’s Lighthouse Foundation is ecstatic to announce the funding of its first research grant to Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center in the amount of $100,000 over the next two to three years for the research of gene therapies for Hemophagocytic Lymphohistiocytosis (HLH).
LLF traveled to CCHMC to present this grant and meet with the researchers on 8/2/12! Here is an article from a newspaper: http://psdispatch.com/stories/Pittston-native-helps-fund-research-in-sons-memory,202602?category_id=4&town_id=4&sub_ On April 1, 2011, liam's lighthouse foundation in conjunction with The Children's Hospital, Aurora, CO and The University of Colorado Medical School, sponsored Dr. Lisa Filipovich, expert in the field of HLH, to visit and provide grand rounds and lecture to pediatric fellows, residents, and attending physicians. Some histio parents and grandparents were also able to join us for a very informative day. LLF is very much focused on awareness and we were delighted about the success of the event. Thank you to Dr. Jenny Soep for helping to make this opportunity possible.
