Pinning Down A Cure
IN HONOR AND MEMORY OF ABIGAIL BUCKNER
The Abigail Buckner Foundation is hosting the 5th annual Pinning Down a Cure Bowling and Silent Auction in memory of Abby. It is with a heavy heart that we host our 5th event which means Abigail has been gone for that long. We host this event every year in order to keep Abby's memory alive and remind everyone to stop and appreciate what you have - because it can all change in an instant. All of the money we raise goes directly to the HLH Center of Excellence for research into this deadly disease that Abby was disagnosed with, only 24 hours before she was gone - after 2 1/2 years of being such a full of life little girl who was so healthy and happy.
The event is Saturday, August 2nd, at Lousiville Lanes in Shakopee. The event will start at 1:00pm with bowling, taco bar, dessert, prizes, and silent auction. The cost is $25 for adults and $15 for kids. The registration cost gets you 2 games of bowling and shoe rental, a Pinning Down a Cure T-shirt, registration gift, entry into a prize drawing, taco bar, unlimited soda/lemonade and dessert buffet. The silent auction will close at 4:00 pm. As we have for the past 4 years, we have selected Liam's Lighthouse Foundation as our beneficiary. LLF has committed to donating research funds to Cincinnati Children's Hospital and with the help from events like ours has donated $100,000.00 to date! We are proud to be a part of this commitment. With The Abigail Buckner Foundation's partnership with LLF, we have linked up with their fundraising website and they have created an event for us. This should be simple to use to register yourself as an individual, join a team, or create a team and register multiple people under your team. You can create your own team website to share on Facebook, Twitter, and email! It will be nice to have a website you can customize to fundraise for your team. We will have a prize for the top fundraising team so please use this feature! Please let us know if you have any problems. We are looking forward to seeing everyone on August 2nd!
